Kopkiwi:

Man, I am at the point now where I may have to return my phone. Constantly losing cell reception, wifi just never works and now I get huge touch delays and where the phone almost freezes for 2-3 seconds before becoming responsive again.

You should definitely exchange it cos none of these has ever happened to my phone. ...

I know the OP8 series have alag issue with chrome at the moment.

As for the reception and wifi, it could be a faulty phone... My reception etc are fine, maybe you could ask for an exchange

New update disables the photochrome camera. Can someone test. It doesn't show up for me now. It's unfair when you paid for a device and they disable hardware. Wonder if they accepted returns..lol

Also if someone is keen to try this 5g hack

The latest update released 1-2 days ago re-enables the photo chrome camera.

If you really want the update look for Oxygen updater on play store, it finds updates not pushed to your phone officially.

i think you are confused. i have the update. the new update actually disables the photocrome lens indoors. it only works outside in bright light. so basically the big lens you have at the bottom does not work indoors

buddy have you tested it indoors? it was never disabled to start with in the global version, can you share a pic yo have taken indoors with 10.5.11. anyway seems like you have no idea

https://www.xda-developers.com/oxygenos-10-5-10-oneplus-8-pro-fixes-photochrom-color-filter-see-through-xray-issue/

you can no longer use that lens as a standalone anymore and doesnt work indoors unless there is bright light source

Finally my PBtech 8 pro arrived today. NZpost is a PITA.

Out of the box, I've enabled VoWiFi and VoLTE. VoLTE is working as far as I know, but VoWiFi icon is not showing up, I might need to change the the carrier profile in the PDC tool.

Didn't bother enabling or testing 5G, since my VF SIM is not compatible (AFAIK) AND there are no 5G towers in my area.

On pbtech.nz is mentioned "20W New Zealand fast charger included.", but I wasn't sure if the original was removed or not. Was pretty surprised to see that there's was an oppo 5V/4A charger separately, and the 8 Pro box was still sealed with the Warp Charger. For the record, the Oneplus charger is a European model.

also how did you test volte, does the icon appear o the status bar ??

iam on 2degrees and when i enabled volte , no icon appears, and when i make a call i can see that the service changes to H+ from 4G+, pretty sure it means volte is not used
