@KopKiwi who was the carrier for the iPhone 11 Pro Max?

Spark for the iPhone and OnePlus.

Only option for where I live as Vodafone have awful reception and I just hate 2Degrees

@IvanPiacun SparkNZ do not have Wi-Fi calling so you can rule that out

@Linux yes but they may still have a left over from code for other carriers or the Wi-Fi 6 power management may be affecting it. It could explain the intermittent nature of the problem.

@Linux I am trying VOLTE off, but I have noticed previously the problem appears to only occur when I have WiFi turned on, and I have a new Wi-Fi 6 router and I was wondering if others are in the same position. I have an RT AX3000 which was bundled with my phone from PB Tech.

I don't have a wifi6 router so thats not the cause for me. Hoping we can identify a reproducible cause for this to pass to Samsung.

Disabling VoLTE definitely seems to have helped but I'm not 100% confident on that just yet. More time needed....

The Note 20 LOOKS really excellent except for BATTERY.

4500mah battery for top spec SD865 or exynos 990 Global

But main issue is 5g and a 6.9" quad HD 120hz display. That is going to suck that battery dry in 3/4 day Im sure. GSMA saying the 2x Amoled capcitive sets a new record for colour accuracy. Could be a real winner for photographers on the run, wifi to your X3 Fuji with a an XF lens (drool) and whether using LR or Snapseed its going to be a beautiful experience on a quad hd screen of this size with up to 1200+ nits.

But I feel you will want a charger where ever you go, even a portable 20000mah xiaomi battery bank fast charge.

Looks awesome so far, but a 5000+ mah would have been way to go imo.

Yeah I know but they were promoting previous years as Galaxy Note I thought. Either way its the same gear. Is there not already a Note 20 thread? If not I will start one. I think I will end up with an s10 as the s9 is out of OS updates soon. But it will prob release around same time as the nokia 9.3 which looks like using the s20 utra sensor. So will be another financial decision with our jobs both on the line.

Did anyone else feel they needed to consider their jobs this year before upgrading?

Im surprised there wasnt an s20e this year, it really was awesome the s10e. oh well/

Looks like there is another camera oriented update on it's way out. It also includes the May security patch, so hopefully we will see this soon (deja vu).

There is not, given we are still around 3 months out from the anticipated launch. Feel free to start one though.

Like any financial decision, you should always consider your position first. These phones are 90% a luxury item for most people, so if you are worried about your job, $1.5k - $2k on a phone does not seem like a wise financial decision.

I really hope the camera update fixes the post processing of images when zoomed. I would rather have the grainy detail than a blotchy abstract water painting.

I'm not a complete idiot, I still have some parts missing.

Just got off the support chat with Samsung NZ. They acknowledge the fault with Calls and SMS not working. Their engineering team is working on a fix and estimated to be ready early next month. I hope that is June 2020. Spending that kind of money on a phone that cant do Calling and SMS right is a really bad experience for my first Samsung phone.

Anyone know the chance of taking it back to the store and getting a refund? It is only 2 weeks old

Phone doesn't work for it's intended purpose, Samsung have acknowledged the problem, should be covered under warranty.

Interesting did they provide you with a link to any official statement regarding this, because excuse my skepticism, but without something official and "in writing" I suspect it might not actually happen.

Agree Samsung should be providing an official ticket number Samsung are working off

No they didn't give a fault number. Should have asked that one in hindsight. I was just happy they acknowledge it.

[(Customer):15:15:24] 2 days ago I also factory reset the phone a third time to make sure I had a clean build.
[(Agent):15:15:33] For now, we will need to get the details of the device so we can forward it to them.
[(Customer):15:15:50] Ahh ok. Do you have time frame when this may be available?
[(Agent):15:17:14] As of the moment, there's no further announcement but this has been reported few weeks ago and we are hoping that the update will be released early next month.
