540trickzter: Anyone know if JB Hi-Fi or Harvey Norman are selling flip cases for Moto G separately? If so, how much are they?

The plebs at JB said nope, as they're not selling the phones without.

I'd say wait till 2degrees start doing them.

I'm another note....my postage from Amazon came to $15NZ....by using a prime trial and a promo code with youshop...pretty good deal..

Where did you get the promo code for YouShop from? I just ordered my Moto G from Amazon yesterday, so waiting for it to arrive at the YouShop warehouse.

As usual with a new phone it could take months for these to come out here..

As I am after Red and Blue ones.

But the phone in my mind is not selling to well, no Advertising and only 2 stores selling them and no 16GB model I have been told here..

Dose any one know if the Imported ones comes with the Flip case.?

Seems that if I need the 16Gb one I have to import it, but with out the case its more or less useless to me and you just cant go down the road and get a case..

Zipdisk, why don't you just buy the 16GB phone that you want, and the blue or red flip case you want, online? Yes you have to import it, but that is nothing new to get the newest electronic goods.

Today I went and got my 2Degrees SIM changed to a micro one. Put it in as SIM 2 and it works fine as the primary in 3G mode.. The secondary one Telecom went off line.
When I make the Telecom one the primary the 2D SIM goes to GSM /2G as a secondary SIM.

So it looks like the second SIM will work fine if it's a 2Degrees or Vodafone one but not Telecom or Skinny. A bit disappointing really as I hope that two WCDMA SIMs would work together with the secondary one in standby mode as it does with the 2D one..

Pity that dual SIM technology is still locked into the GSM world and not WCDMA. I notice that when a Telecom SIM becomes the secondary a grayed out check box saying "Use only 2G networks" is checked. As Telecom has no 2G so no service..

Guess my wife will get a new fone this weekend..

How does that mean its not selling well? Could be that they cant get enough stock!
It was only officially released in this part of the world on 22 Feb.
I think Harvey Norman and JB are the only big seller stocking it for now - and both have Australian links.

Apart from the really big selling models its pretty normal to have to sources cases/protectors from overseas - there are just too many makes/models for most stockists to hold much variety.

Perhaps it doesnt cope with the mix of frequencies too well. I dont know how rare a 'pure' 3G network is (I undetstand that this is what Telecom is now). I guess the radio transmitter/receiver would need to be covering a lot of frequencies to catch the lot - but then that's kinda the point of dual SIMs.

I did wonder if it could cope with all of the combinations if it would really eat the battery....

Yep.  No problem.   Will work with two SIMs but you have to manually select the active SIM..

At last look both Amaon and Clove had run out of the flip shells.

Don't know why - they're overpriced and offer zero fumble protection.  Gonna wait for the casemate offerings personally.

Red is in stock on Amazon UK. Not sure why blue isn't even listed there though.
