Wow...I just had a call from the FedEx lady asking for GST payment. I think someone mentioned there's a somewhat-less-than-helpful lady there? I think I spoke to her! She was pretty curt about it all, especially when I asked if the parcel was actually in the country! Either she is naturally like that, or this whole craziness with European flights really got to her...

So I take it you're parcel wasn't in the country then? I don't think mine is even though I have now paid for the GST.

I spoke to a Melissa, foreign so hard to understand.

That's right - mine has not even left the UK according to the tracking.

How much are people paying in GST/fees?

I am lead to believe it is more than just paying 12.5% of the total [cost of goods + shipping cost]. Do you also have to pay "handling/brokerage" fees too and if so much are those?

I was told $100.XX so not too bad. Was expecting a little more than that.

EDIT: No breakdown of costs, but will see if I can get one from her tomorrow.

Below is my tracklog which would lead you to believe it's sitting in Auckland.

Looks like you got the same lady that asked for my credit card number last Thursday haha... She got a bit annoyed when I asked if my package had arrived too. Just told me my estimated time of delivery was the 18th April, so chances are it's not here yet... :| It arrived the day after the call though, so I'm satisfied with FedEx overall hehe :)

I think she's just naturally like that then lol. Cuz she called me the morning of the the day air traffic was shut down, so it couldn'tve been the craziness :P

Well colour me relieved. My credit card transaction was denied, but after contacting my bank it turns out it was just a mistyped security code. I contacted Clove with the new code and they're proceeding with the order as originally placed. Which is a relief since it means I'm not paying the higher priced. Quite nice of them :)

On the downside due to the muckup and me taking a lot longer than I should have to sort it out, once my order is dispatched I imagine it'll be behind a pretty significant queue of freight on it's way out of the UK.
