The nexus 4 is pretty easy to open so replacing the battery shouldnt be too hard (it has pretty standardized screws too)

People on this thread are saying /claiming that the N4 has a life of around 800 cycles, so youre short by just under a year

yea abit more hassle than usual replacing the battery , but at least it's "user replacable" and i shouldn't worry bout it for 2.5-3 years.

The charger that comes with it won't be usable here in NZ I assume, just the USB cable , but i have an adaptor from my Optimus L5 handset , can i use that ?

yeah all you need is an adapter, just a cheap $2 one will do fine

Or if you have any kinda of usb charger then that will work fine too

Australia has a play store too. When they come back in Stock and you know someone who's coming over from there you could get them to order one and claim back tax on the way back. It'll end up being only slightly more expensive and easier to claim warranty

I ordered another Nexus 4 for my wife.  Interestingly I can now access the US play store without a VPN as long as I'm signed into my google account.  If I sign out of my google account it says the store isn't available in my country.

I've tried this on several different computers, in different locations, using different browsers to rule out accidental VPN usage but it definitely only requires me to be logged into my google account now - Sweet!  Anyone else have this good fortune?

I can only guess that google validate your location by postal address then by IP address.  And maybe a successful delivery to a US address is further validation.  Regardless it's great! :-)

Yip looks like I'm locked into the US store also.

Its awesome but also makes getting NZ restricted apps impossible.
