Well all that breath holding clearly didn't turn you blue like a Smurf, you live to enjoy the new rom. Cool!
Neets: Okie dokie. Wifi Analyzer installed. I could see the neighbours also vying for the same channel. So I've moved on and picked another number. Now we're neighbours without being right on top of each other! So have I gotten the point right about the purpose of Wifi Analyzer and then choosing a channel that is "vacant" to stop other people all drawing from the same channel which is potentially weakening the signal strength?
If I'm right, then it's a bit like the water pressure. Your shower is great so long as you're the only one in the street having a shower at that time. But if the neighbours run water at the same time, you might end up with a trickle. Ok, I over simplify perhaps, but it's an analogy that I can work with, assuming I'm right.
And our shower is excellent, in case you were concerned for my hygiene ;-)
wazz: Some guy posted a vid showing CM7 on our SGS, best thing about gingerbread is the screen off animation tbh.

The interface is super slick.. I remember loving Cyanogen 6.1 except for the horrendous battery drain..
Thanks for opening my eyes to CM7.

Interesting that at the other end of the house, the signal strength reduced becuase I'm further away from the router, and then I picked up someone else's router in wifi analyzer. Don't know who becuase they've not had the forethought to name their router. So having thought I escaped the neighbours I was now competing with someone else. Have changed again this morning. Now I'm plumb between them both, but with no overlap.
Why channels 2/6/9/12? Are channels beyond that known to deteriorate anyway?

According to the always (somewhat) reliable wikipedia you should be able to use channels 1 through 13 - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WLAN_channels (though the article mentions that because of overlap between channels "using only channels 1, 6, 11, and 14 is recommended to avoid interference").

Hi Itr0nic. I think there's a video on the Darky thread on XDA. I don't use his rom. And I'm pretty sure there's some videos on YouTube of installing his rom. I believe Darky also has his own Facebook page. Perhaps you might get some specific details there. Though I'm pretty sure there's a couple of bods on this thread on Telecom XT with his rom. Hopefully they'll have some more specific details to share with you. And welcome :)
