Is this applicable to those who pre-ordered or is this only for if you purchase a Note 8 as of the time the promo started?

I could not find anywhere that would exclude pre orders.  I am one and just used the invoice number from when i ordered the phone.

Did they not do a pre-order promotion like Spark and Voda?

Have only just discovered the fact you can bring up the "Recent apps" list, hold down on an app and drag it into a sub-window, and you can do this with several apps and have 2-3 windows onscreen at once, and it works really well. I can have a video playing while reading Twitter or somesuch, impressive.

Yes they did. But can't find anywhere this morning that says if you purchase between xxxx and xxxx it only says purchased a note 8. Only thing it said was by the 10th November.

Got told on the phone by 2 degrees that the TV promo is only from a certain date and that I purchased mine too early. He also seemed to think it was only through Noel Leeming. So much for preorder deals.

Oh well will see what happens.  The drop down says noels, jbhfi, pbtech, 2degrees etc.

I know that noels had them at there big sale thing this weekend but will see if they contact me or if a tv turns up.  I had a read over their website today and there was nothing giving a date range only that it has to be done before the 10 or 12 of November.

I've come back around to thinking about getting the Note 8. I was leaning towards the V30 or maybe the Pixel XL 2 but I'm worried about quality control issues surround LGs OLED screen. That on top of the fact that the Note 8's screen is so bright (something I'm keen on) is pushing me back towards that as my next phone. On top of everything you can actually buy it now. I still worry about about how the phone will feel in my pocket or just handling it day to day. I'm not too keen on cases but maybe the Note 8 needs one, especially if my 3 year old daughter spots it!

Can anyone who's purchased the phone from Noel Leeming confirm that there is no carrier branding/logo on boot up? My understanding is that it's a 2degrees variant but that it doesn't have much if any carrier software installed. Any general issues with slowdowns/lag?

Cheers.

One of the best phones I have had.  There is a clear case that comes with it that i am using and its fine.  Sounds like the 2degrees and vodafone ones don't come with the boot up screen however when you do a "check for update" you will get a new samsung app that asks if you want to download carrier apps etc.  You do not have to install them.

I have been using the supplied case too, its surprisingly good. I had purchased my favorite spigen rugged armor and i prefer to use the supplied case because it feels better in the hand. I have purchased a olixar super slim case to see how that compares.

Picked up my Note 8 this morning. The size is ok for now, but the real test is when I'm out using it day to day. I do think I'd prefer stock Android, especially when finding things in the settings but it's fine, just need to get used to it. I will say that Samsung's launcher is pretty good. That being said, I like my Google feed. Tried the Google Now launch but I don't like how you can't gesture swipe down to bring down the notifications so I'm using the Pixel Launcher and it works really well so far.

Does anyone else find their Note 8 to be a bit red? It's a very warm display, especially compared the the temp of my OnePlus One display. I tried setting the colour balance to Cool but that just makes things greener. I can get it a bit better with the Advanced Options and dropping the red way down and the green a bit lower.

Any way, it's here now so hopefully this will turn out to be a good phone in the long run.

That is most likely to be the blue light filter. Search blue in the settings app and you can adjust it accordingly.

Blue light filter is designed to allow you to use the phone in a dark room as your trying to go to sleep without waking you back up by lowering the amount of blue which supposedly your brain responds to.

My blue light filter was off, I checked that. I think it's just Samsung's OLED tech and maybe my eyes being a bit sensitive to stuff like this. My Tab S2 is a bit of the green-ish side of things. I've managed to get it to a better spot manually configuring the RGB values.

I'm now wondering why anyone would want a phone without the S pen!

So useful , I can't believe I went so long without one to be honest.
