Blast, looks like Clove is totally out of stock (Now its listed as Out of Stock, instead of Out of Stock/more in Thu/Fri..)

Is there anywhere else to order one for around the same price? ~330GBP

They just shipped mine! Shipping expected Monday! that is epic fast! maybe I got a one of the last ones there. Have to say Clove is damn efficient!

Hopefully it was processed through at a point where the exchange rate had dropped.

nofam: Hi All,

Have been watching this thread with interest - I'm keen as mustard to get a Desire (ahem - once I get SWMBO's permission), and I've been looking around to see who's cheapest - has anyone purchased from these guys?

http://www.blueflymobile.com/HTC-Desire-Quadband-3G-HSDPA-GPS-Unlocked-Phone

I could get this, landed in Dunedin, for NZ$868.91 - is that about the same as Clove?

It would be faster for you to get this & then you won't get charges from custom's that you would probably get if you import one..

Do the numbers, still cheaper from clove. The only customs charges are GST at 12.5%

I get high speed mobile broadband here in Amberley on my Desire.

HSPA/WCDMA:
Europe/Asia: 900/2100 MHz

So they'll work just fine on vodafone..

But they're out of stock until the 24th of may :( I could place an order for one now, but I dont know if the exchange rate will still be as high as it is now. Damn! I should've ordered one right from the start..
($870NZD which includes gst, a 20GBP flip case, postage and GST on all of it) vs $930 from einfo which doesn't include postage or a case.. they also dont seem to have any cases for the desire.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Just put in my order, guess i'll be waiting till the end of month for mine! Hope the exchange rate is still up where it is now. (It's ~0.48GBP to 1NZD atm, which is really good. If it drops to 0.46 below, total price is getting up there to where you can get it from einfo.. So I gues s it's a bit of gamble!)

I'll probably be looking at selling off my HTC Touch Pro after I get the desire.. (Got it off nztechfreak )

You could ask them to charge you now to get the good exchange rate. They are trustworthy, if anything happened they would credit you back no worries. Also that would save some time when they get the phones in.  Just a thought.

Well mine got processed at about 1 GBP = 2.1 NZD

I got charged NZD$767.99, must not include any accessories I ordered, although there is no mention of back order, it'll be here soon enough so I'll have to wait and see.

Fwiw, I bought my desire from clove last month at £330 and selected the royal mail option. It arrived just 1 or 2 days after other orders shipped via dhl, and I didn't have to pay gst for some reason. Landed price nz$791. Great phone, luvin it.

What is the deal with Fedex and DHL, I selected DHL on the clove website, since it was the only fast option, then I got a Fedex tracking number like everyone else. I thought DHL and Fedex were competitors

Really? I've chosen that option too. Guess customs let it through without imposing GST on it! Lucky!
Wont get mine till the end of the month probably, don't mind paying GST on it as long as they clear it quickly..
