I use the assistants with a Plantronics headset. After the last update, the phone asked me whether I'd like too complete a voice dialing request using Bixby or Assistant.
OOI I selected Bixby. Now nothing happens when I ask the phone to dial and I have yet to figure out how to reset to Assistant!

Note - to be more accurate, when I press the button on the headset that used to launch Google as the Virtual Assistant, it now does nothing. There must be a menu item somewhere in the phone to reset the choice from Bixby to Google but I can't find it!

Finally got there via Samsung support. You need to reset all your default apps (no option to do it individually) which solves the problem but then gives you the PITA of re-doing all your default app choices.

Doesn't say anything about patching the wifi vulnerability. Or was that done previously?

Upgraded from a S6 to the S8 4 weeks ago and having no end of grief with the cellular modem. It takes 39 seconds to initiate a phone call, longer if in a 3G area and people dialling me get "network busy" error. Took the phone back to Vodafone a week ago and they replaced the whole handset and now the replacement is doing the same thing albeit not quite as bad...argh! Three voicemails today without the phone ringing once.

Anyone else seeing issues with the S8 when switching between WiFi, 4G, 3G and GSM?

No problems here. Mine behaves perfectly.

I'm on Spark, but no issues with making calls.

This is why i moved from vodafone years ago, I could be sitting there looking at my phone and have someone call it next to me and it would go to voice mail, only way to fix it was airplane or rebooting.  Also found just traveling around auckland would have the same issue.  Think it has to do with switching between the different bands etc.  I tried replacing the sim card, different phones, etc still the same problem

But to be fair it was years ago.  Never have had the issue with spark or 2 degrees, however when i did go to 2 degrees that lasted a month before going back to spark as 2degrees data speeds were way to slow and had issues with that.

First thing you can try however is getting a new sim and seeing if that helps.

So according to the Samsung website (http://www.samsung.com/nz/apps/bixby/why/) The full Bixby experience should now be available here in NZ.

Anyone able to use it at all yet?

I just disabled all the Bixby related apps. I found the button isn't terribly useful and the mapping methods are slow.
