We have ROOT now, 100% Confirmed on Telecom NZ Devices, i copied the thread and posted on our site for my NZ Friends:

Do custom roms not affect the radio?

No only stock RUU.exe ROMs flash a radio as well. your radio will stay the same, or you can update it after root

I gotta say I definitely like this sensation better than the s2. Feels much better in the hand better battery life, maybe not amoled but still very nice screen. Great pics and videos. Very light compared to DHD,

I think the extra resolution makes a big difference as well. Can't wait to overclock either :D

owner. Galaxy S3 has gone to its new owner. Now using Galaxy Note 3. Skipping Note 4 I think...
