Skeamz: Brilliant thread really helped me with my choice. I have just recieved my sensation and wow im completely loving it. Was using a iphone 3GS before this, android is incredible, glad i made the move.

My question is has anyone tried putting a higher rated mAH battery in there sensation. Apparently the Evo3D battery is the same shape and voltage, i have been looking on the net and found a 1900mAH battery and have been looking at buying one just for that extra bit of charge. What are your thoughts on this? have any of you put a higher rated mAH battery into your previous phones?

Hey Skeamz, glad to hear you chose the Sensation.

The evo 3d battery will fit in the Sensation, I haven't bought one yet though. I did however purchase some Chichitech 1900mah batteries and they were just shipped today :)

If you want tips on how to improve battery life, ArtooDetoo is the man.

Hey lokhor would you be able to tell me where you bought the batteries from?
I tried looking a while ago and nobody would ship to NZ

Also, I've gone through all of CdTDroiD's P3D ROMs, and so far they've been quite slow for me. But I just installed 3.1 and my phone is flying! The difference is so noticeable its crazy how fast the phone is running. Thanks for the ROM CdTDroiD!

I bought them from Ebay, Just do a search for chichitech 1900mah sensation and click advanced and change the ships to location to New Zealand. I managed to get 2 batteries + wall charger for $26.99 USD including shipping.

Following up my dead phone problem - It took maybe 15 seconds to fix once I got home;

Was just as simple as I had read, plugged the phone in to the computer and ran "adb reboot" and that was that.

As far as custom ROMs go, InsertCoin Sense Android 2.3.4 STABLE 1.5 is the fastest I have used, and I have tried most publicly available at the moment.

Not a fan with people skinning the ROMs, I think the P3D looks terrible. Personal opinion of course.

I am just on the lookout for the most streamlined 2.3.4 without sense. I prefer to do entire custom themes and its much easier without any other home-screen holding RAM where not needed.

So.. for the moment its InsertCoin + AmazingSense by Cypis.

Back to the topic of the Sensation. I'm really happy now that we have S-OFF and custom roms. I see a great future for this phone. I think any performance issues can be resolved by tweaking and perhaps overclocking/undervolting. at 1.5Ghz (the original planned clockspeed for our processor) the Sensation is equivalent in performance to the SGSII and it should use around the same power.
