I added my sky (mysky HD) manually. It was a little fiddly to align the IR's, but probably only took 5 min for 30 functions. I have almost full control over sky with the phone now - channels, power, programme guide, record, back, play, pause, ff, rw etc

That sounds very clever and interesting. Can you give us a bit more info on how you did it? Did you have some instructions to follow or whatever? Maybe they're in the app and I didn't see them.

@kitinnz, I am curious to know if you can take a look at the top of your phone. Is the casing aligned properly, and do you see any gaps? You may know there's been alot of talk about build quality issues and gap-gate.

Checking for these gaps was one of the first things I did when I unboxed - I had read some of those reports.

Fortunately mine is totally OK - fit and finish is beautiful.

My Vodafone HTC One on preorder arrived this morning big thumbs up to Vodafone for a slick will managed preorder process. (dont hate me I ordered one on line, no issues and arrived as they promised not a dig at any other telco)

This phone is WOW out of the box, no build issues, setup was really nice experiance just WOW, have got my HTC One Case Ultra Thin Air ultra clear case on very nice. Next is to have a play and get used to things from my Galaxy Note 1.

Just feels so nice and and Sense 5 is a fresh of breath air from the cartoon looking touchwiz.

I am in the same boat as you. I will be moving from the Note 1 to the One. Let me know how you find the 'smaller' screen.

eracode: Can you give us a bit more info on how you did it? Did you have some instructions to follow or whatever? Maybe they're in the app and I didn't see them.

Manual mode is at the bottom of the manufacturers list apparently? (maybe wrong)

Hopefully it's something cool like you point your old remote at your phone to teach it commands :D

I am in the same boat as you. I will be moving from the Note 1 to the One. Let me know how you find the 'smaller' screen.

So far I really like the tad smaller form factor of the One and laying it on top of the Note there is a tad missing as the Note screen is longer as it goes down to the top of speaker on the One. So difference is from from the bottom of the one display to the top of the One speaker is how much is missing. Width wise is also as much as the width of my finger.

The One just runs so much much smoother and page scrolling zoom in and out in the web browser is way quicker.

Blink feed is awesome plus Boom sound. So much nicer in making calls (size here) and is clearer as well.

So much you can tweak that is not on by default.

Just in regards to the speakers, how loud do they go? What volume would a tv have to be on to be on par with the speakers volume? I know that is a very broad question lol.

The speakers are VERY loud. I had to turn all my volumes down to about 20%. You can fill a whole room with music if you turn it up to about 80%. The alarm scared the bejesus out of me this morning. Possibly my favourite feature of the whole phone (the rest is fantastic though).

Ha, yes it is old skool! And a little fiddly getting them to line up. The sky remote is fat and the phone is thin. I had to prop the phone up a little bit to get them to align.

I tried all of the manufacture boxes (with sky in the title) and they all failed. When you try a box that's wrong it runs you through a few codes, once you go through those and confirm that none work the phone gives you a "learn" option. Which is what I did - there's 30 buttons to go through, but it doesn't take too long. It asks you to confirm each button is working after it loads, but I stopped checking after the first few because it was obvious it was working fine. That saves a lot of time...

I agree, the sound is really nice. People talking on videos actually sounds like people talking, not shouting into a tin can like most phones sound like. With the speakers and the nice bright detailed screen I actually prefer to watch video on this compared to the Nexus 7. Happy to forgo the extra size for quality.

The front facing speaker thing makes soooo much more sense!

I found that the Pace remote settings seemed to work for my mysky unit.
I'm trying to find out where the config files are stored for a custom programmed remote - will share here if I manage to find out.

Maybe it's that they're facing forward rather than into a surface, or the quality makes it seem much louder. Enabling Beats cuts the volume somewhat but does sound more full (ie, sounds awesome). It was definitely louder than the One X when I compared them side by side last night.
