Finch: Just in regards to the speakers, how loud do they go? What volume would a tv have to be on to be on par with the speakers volume? I know that is a very broad question lol.

The speakers are VERY loud. I had to turn all my volumes down to about 20%. You can fill a whole room with music if you turn it up to about 80%. The alarm scared the bejesus out of me this morning. Possibly my favourite feature of the whole phone (the rest is fantastic though).

The loud volume could be handy for GPS navigation..

It makes a huge difference for GPS nav compared with other phones I've owned. They almost had to be held to the ear to hear over car/road noises.

I assume you mean this got you access to changing the Sky channel one up or one down (as I did), but not access to all the the 30 functions that #kitinnz is talking about? He (she?) had to program each function separately.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Thanks for this.

Ah, personally I would ask for another handset. That's what people have been doing in Aussie if they see a gap of that size. While it's tiny, it still doesn't fit into HTC's advertising of "zero gap" construction.

Bottom looks awesome its gap-less,  but the top not so good.

Having said that I am still waiting for mine, so just a bit jealous....

I am sick of this wait from Telecom, why is Vodafone selling on time?

I just want some transparency to the reason behind this delay.

mmm... if they were prepared to swap it for another unit on the spot I'd do it, but I'm guessing they'd want to send it back to HTC. That's a hassle.

Maybe I'll just think of "Zero Gap" like I think of "100% Pure NZ" Foot in Mouth

I am wondering whether to wait for the 64GB version. Apparently it's due out in Australia shortly. Going to head over within a month or so... hmmm... first world problems.

heavenlywild: Oh man, sounds awesome. I can't wait to have my mitts on it tomorrow, or Friday - as long as it's before the weekend!

@kitinnz, I am curious to know if you can take a look at the top of your phone. Is the casing aligned properly, and do you see any gaps? You may know there's been alot of talk about build quality issues and gap-gate.

I have had a close look at mine, and would say the build quality is definitely not what it is made out to be.
looking at the phone from the top there is a gap between the top aluminium cover and the white plastic mid part on the right hand side.. but no gap on the left.
then looking along the length of the glass.. on the right hand side the plastic is is visible/protruding.. whereas on the left hand side the plastic is flush with the glass..

Is it possible to ask for another, if they say no then ask for refund and claim it as faulty and not gapless (i.e. miss leading consumer into buying it).

Bust out the CGA and SGA forcing them to refund you in the original payment form.

Walk out and walk back in buy another one ^^

Repeat until you get a perfect phone.

'plastic on a phone' tsk who would have thought.

sarcasm much ;)

From what I read the ones in Europe that weren't finished quite right were being replaced and future batches had been rectified.

Or put a case on and the gap disappears!

But seriously, this ain't enough of an issue for me at the moment. If it gets worse (wider or longer) I would definitely take it back without any hesitation, but as it is, I'm happy.

Except now everyone's making me feel insecure about MY GIANT GAP!!!
