Got mine back from 2 degrees yesterday (sent out by Samsung arriving sat morning, card to call though and had to pick up from depot).

Anyone notice the other updates in the firmware update? Notifications etc.

Also - 2 degrees customers, did you receive any paperwork at all? The lady on the phone @ Samsung who called me to advise it was being sent out said I would be some sort of paperwork for the replacement. All I received in the courier package was a brand new note 7 sealed in box with all the normal bits of paper inside the box. Nothing extra inside or outside the box. Unless I'm wrong this would create obvious extra headaches for any further dealings with the phone, ie. original purchase from 2 degrees has receipt referring to IMEI number xxxx, however we now have phone with IMEI number yyyyy. Would have expected something from Samsung along the lines of "here is your replacement device for the battery recall", an invoice or something.

I asked 2degrees when I enquired with them about the replacement and they said that they will track the IMEI number from the samsung database that they have access to for the new handsets

So you didn't receive any emails or anything either then? I'm sure Samsung confirmed my email on the phone and said they would email something too. Ah well haha..

Yeah same here, they confirmed my number and email and I was also expecting an email with the tracking number when the sent the handset but nothing came through until 2 days after the call, the courier guy knocked on my door with the replacement handset package. I too would have appreciated an invoice or letter stating the IMEI number issued to my name but ....Ah well...

As long as we got the brand new handset and the update turned the battery icon to green - makes me feel better

I wonder if they have made the update to turn the "old" handsets' battery icon to red - they should I think

Red green colour blind is a thing.

Perhaps add a burning animation to it tho.

Really imo the update should give a countdown and power off after some time or another thing to make them barely useful to make the holdouts have to swap them.

Yes the ones with issues should have nagware (like the lock screen saying it needs to be returned with nothing else showing). And power off every 30 minutes.

I just had a vision of a Samsung blowing up and my wife's voice coming out of the speaker saying "I told you it was going to blow up! You should have taken it back when I said! You never listen to me!"

New to Samsung and Android here; is there any drawback from purchasing a 2degrees branded Note 7 from PBTech? Very keen to purchase ASAP as I've just initiated my iPhone 7 Plus return. I was told the phone will boot up with 2dehrees branding every time it's turned on from scratch, and software updates rely on the carrier to release I.e. Slower than google pixel phones and slower than non branded note 7s?

FWIW the new replacement stock of Note 7 is now available and in stock at PBTech but there's only about 10 of them (10 black and 10 gold versions maybe). TIA!
