Searching Google Maps also shows up: Samsung Communications / Samsung Customer Service Plaza - repair facility - at 21 Airborne Road, Rosedale,  Auckland 0632, ph 09 415 7900.

Why don't you try and ring them? I dealt with them when our 60" Smart TV screen failed after 3+ years, and they were fantastic - replaced the screen in our home, without charge.

I found that number too, but when looking at their website they appear to be simply a repair agent authorised by Samsung. Maybe they can put me onto someone though, nothing to lose...

Do you have any written communication where you asked for a refund instead of the replacement?

If so, you can mention the "Consumer Guarantees Act" and that if not helped, then you have written proof of request for a refund and they pushing the handset as a replacement instead of that

It was on the phone to a female named Louise. I'm pretty sure all their calls are recorded though.

Oh believe me, I would! I'm in Chch unfortunately. I work in customer services myself and fuming to think a company as large as Samsung would treat a customer this way. My old iPhone is looking pretty good right now haha

I've spammed 4 email addresses and their facebook page, not a bean yet.

I understand your frustration, but try to not take it personally. You are clearly caught in a grey area, which are notoriously difficult to get fixes for in large companies. I have someone I know in Samsung I can message. I can't promise a result, but he will be able to help if he is still there.

That would be amazing! It was more the call centres attitude that got my back up. They were very smug and very unhelpful. I imagine their pay/bonus is assessed on call volumes as every call could not wait to get rid of me.

I'm confident once I find an NZ contact it will be sorted, but it shouldn't have to be this hard.

Looks like social media strikes again. I had a call from a Samsung customer services rep about 90mins after my message was 'seen' via facebook. Sounds like they will look after me now.

Hmmmm ... another recall??

https://www.cnet.com/news/replacement-galaxy-note-7-could-face-its-own-recall/

God if that happens they might as well just trash the note 7, refund everyone and work on getting it right on the note 8

Saying that however if it comes to that it might be time to drop the "note" name due to the damage to the brand.

Waiting to see what the actual situation was. If this is what it looks like on face value though, I'm ordering an iPhone.

I see the major USA carriers are all allowing customers to exchange "new" Note 7s for any other device they like.

Exactly. If AT&T abandon the phone then I suspect the other carriers will probably too and then Samsung may as well pulp the remaining stock..!
