The P10 at 2dg seems like a reeeeally good deal which I might jump on. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but:

RRP $1100

Less $400 2dg discount = $700.

Add Huawei Watch and Noel's Headphones which are realistically worth maybe around $450 together..

Meaning that the price of this $1100 phone is effectively $250...

Can somebody definitely confirm that the 2dg plan is cancellable if the phone is paid off in full?

I went to 2dg store asked from the guy he said theres no cancellation fees just pay of the remaining amount on the phone....sum how I still dont feel assured. I read threw terms and conditions on 2dg website there was no mention of cancellation fee or I couldn't find it (for the p30 phones)

Yeah it seems a bit crazy that they wouldn't protect themselves and lock you in for at least 12 months...

For those that have pre-ordered, how does the process work? Come into store, sign a contract, pay upfront fee, pick up headphones and leave - come back pick it up when its out?

Hi Therk,
In short, Yes as you described , from memory the min deposit was $30 something though you could pay whatever you wanted to. I guess a little easier in our case as we had an account just swapping it so all details were in the system

Do any of the carrier deals allow you to buy without being locked into a plan? For me thats not saving $400. Looks like Spark might.

Vodafone looks like they will do it on open term

Save $401 offer: Available when purchased on Interest Free on $59.99 or above open term plans.

So does that mean I cancel that plan drop down to the prepaid select what you want plan? Its hard to know if Im missing out on anything. The main thing I want is interest free $1098, the watch, the speaker isnt essential, but aside from interest free I want to be able to use my prepaid plan.

Check the S10 thread. 2degrees has similar offer but it was for $200 off the handset price and on open term plan.

You can cancel it and go on prepay whenever you want with no fees or penalties but you will need to pay the remaining balance of the phone money when you cancel the plan which is after the discount.

It's a good deal go for it..

That sounds really good.

However though, you have to stay with 2dg for the 12 months though even if its prepay? Or are these phones locked to them?

Not locked. You don't have to stay with them if you don't want to. You have to only stay if you want interest free on the device

Hi folks. I have contacted 2degrees for confirmation and here is what I received:

There is a $400 discount on the price of the phone if a customer takes an interest free repayment option from us. Customers do not have to pay this discount back to 2degrees if they repay their interest free option early - they only need to repay the remaining balance in full.

Basically if you purchase the phone with discount (and whatever else is included) when you signup and then cancel your plan you will have to repay the phone plan only, when doing that.

This is different from Vodafone, which has a special clause that says "You agree that you will repay the outstanding amount due on remaining Interest Free Payments in full, prior to terminating or ending your eligible plan or transferring or re-signing. The outstanding amount is determined by the device recommended retail price at time Interest Free Payment was provisioned – (deposit + any Interest Free Payment paid to Vodafone + any device rebate amount, if applicable). Early termination and transfer fees also apply to any Red+ 24 month plan."

From what 2degrees have said, would the remaining balance not just be the remaining cost of the phone with the plan not being a factor? From your comment it seems as though you would have to pay the 12 months of whichever plan you choose if you cancel early?

If you signed a contract for the plan then you are bound to those early termination fees. If you are not on a contract plan then you pay as described in my reply.

I ordered P30 (non pro) at Noel Leeming today.

RRP $1099 -400 2Degrees discount = 700

Get a bonus Huawei Watch redeemed after I get the phone and JBL headphones which hopefully will be back in stock when my phone arrives.

Nice.

The confusing bit for me is - is the $401 discount a device rebate? If so, then from above, it looks like you don't have to pay it back

If not then you effectively have to pay the full RRP, meaning advertising laws may come into effect (let's not derail the thread by about talking about that)

I haven't had a chance to check with VF on the exact meaning yet

Sorry I meant the open term $40 plan - would I need to repay 12 months of the plan if I cancelled immediatelly? I.e. $480 back to 2dg.
