My understanding about the 7" is that it's not out yet.  We saw one last night as a prototype. Not bad; for me 10" or phone. :)

The 7" are available on Amazon and the A101 (3G) have just gone on preorder. Not sure as yet whether it falls into the GSM or WCDMA camp?

Has anyone tried using the Media Server function on the A500 yet? I have it showing up on my PS3, and have half a dozen music files (mp3) stored on the A500 to try, the artists names etc show, but the actual mp3's don't.  Keeps on saying "There are no images"

Ignore this... I'm still half asleep and was looking for mp3's under images.. doh

Maybe silly but it sounds like you are in the Photos column of the PS3 menu not the music column.

Ahh I completely missed your edit saying you were in the wrong area.

So the media server is good?  This is one important feature I need to know about before laying down my cash.

Its not too bad, only tried it with mp3 and images so far. There is a bit of a delay for music starting and there were a couple of pauses during the songs. This could be due to my wireless network though, considering the router has two walls between the PS3 and where I was using the A500.

Any chance you could try an MP4 or Xvid, I would assume that if MP3's a re delayed, these would be also.

I would also like to know how easily and how quickly the A500 can access say a NFS/NAS server or other shared drives on the network.  I assume your tests have just been accessing the A500 from the PS3.
Do yo have the means to test the above in any way?

Although reports from the field seem to indicate that Clear.fi has DLNA issues with non Acer devices

http://www.smh.com.au/digital-life/computers/blogs/gadgets-on-the-go/acer-iconia-a500-multimedia-20110421-1dpy4.html

UPDATE: Acer tells me that for now Clear.fi only works with other Acer gear, which is a joke

Anyone here been able to access DLNA shares on the A500?

Sorry can't do the NFS server test. Just testing from A500 to PS3 at the moment.  I am working on an MP4 right now, as soon as that is complete I will test that.
