I just don't understand how their share price stays so high at the moment, first washing machines that would catch on fire, then the note7 and now the note7 "it's safe" model.

Because they're huge, make a wide range of stuff apart from N7's and their earnings increased - despite the N7 recall (or the recall is in a new/different financial reporting period).

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Here's an updated scratch test of the Note 7 - That should put the "Gorilla Glass 5 being weaker" rumors to rest

Forgive me if I laugh. I think "scratch levels" is the least of the worries for any Note 7 owner these days.

Haha no, you're absolutely right - thought i'd try take a cheeky dab at a positive ;) because all these comments on a possible 2nd and permanent recall are making me anxious - I really love my N7.

I just don't understand what is so different about this phone that they can't seem to get it right - given Samsung have been making phones for eons and it's very similar in design to the S7 Edge which has no problems.

Samsung are MASSIVE. We have no idea what they actually make, here we see them as an electronics company because we only get their phones, tv, fridges etc. In Asia they do EVERYTHING, even bloody Cars.

Same here, I think its a fantastic phone. And with the 1st recall I was very positive with it thinking that it will be all good the 2nd time around.

But with the news reports of the safe models faulting, I am beginning to think that getting off N7 would be a safer option

This was my 1st note but not my 1st Samsung. I have had S2, S3 & S4

And now I am more leaning towards getting the S7 Edge as a replacement (thats considering if the 2nd recall does happen)

I'm interested in this development - so what is the cause of the fires? Will they be eventually rectified in time for a fire sale say around black friday or for Christmas? It's a nice phone ... if it doesn't set things or people on fire ...

I think its getting to the point.

Where they need to offer a full refund (all ready an option ) or a stand in device of similar value/usability, Not a crappy J2 or whatever it is

I.e Note 5 or S7, to hold there suffering customer base over till the Note 7 is stable or Note 8 is released.

Whilst there will be a cost, This is how you keep brand loyalty.

They should look at offering a carrot to keep there suffering customer base

You won't get a free s7 or s7 edge + fixed note7/note8.

Also I don't even think the note 5 is still being made, production would have stopped for the note 7.

What I expect will happen is what is happening in the US, you can exchange it (plus refund of difference of purchase price) or get a refund.

Err, to use a car equivalent - will you give me a second brand new Audi A5 to use and keep while my first Audit A5 is in for recall repairs.

I was pretty impressed with Samsung's offer of a J5 to keep, but I reckon it's a totally unrealistic expectation that Samsung should give you another $1,000+ phone to use, then keep after your other phone is repaired.

If you are not happy, take the refund and buy yourself another phone.

IMHO Under the CGA it can be claimed that the device is breach of Section 7 , (1)  especially Sections 7 (1) (D) &(E) and a full refund can be requested

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Saying it however, if they do offer a refund etc and you are with spark then I would do the following.

Get a refund for the note7 ($1600) then buy the s7 edge for $1200 get a free galaxy tab A 7 (value of $350) with a purchase of the s7 or s7 edge :)

Doing this you get $400 back + a tablet and if you did get the free phone from the first recall then you have gotten $700 worth of free products :)

Update: the tablet is 4g :)

I'd be surprised if they released another line of Note 7s. What they should do is knock the Note 7 on the head and aim for a Note 8 release in line with the S8 but rebrand it to the S8+ or S8 Stylus.

Pretty much everything electronic in the world is using either a Samsung component, or a component made with Samsung Resin.

Samsung should just recall ALL note 7's and refund the customer. What a complete stuff up this is, the resale value of 2nd hand note 7's will be terrible even if there is no full recall. The name will be tainted so much Samsung would be better off just moving onto the S8 and Note 8 next year and forget all about the N7.
