we haven't got our  shiny new toys but a software update is already out :

At almost 400MB, the EMUI update with build number 9.1.0.124 also fixed a major issue with the Huawei P30 Pro’s Always-on display. It enables notifications third-party applications on the Always on display. This is significant since the Always on display feature on Huawei devices does not show any notification and this applies to both – system and third-party notifications.

The update aims to optimize the Huawei P30 Pro “camera performance in certain scenarios” and fixes bugs that would previously affect Swiftkey keyboard or emails with large attachments. It also rectifies the “issue that caused audio and video to go out of sync during playback of Instagram videos recorded in hands-free mode.”

looks like i be getting the noel leeming deal them jbl headphones have been getting excellent reviews, not to mention the 2D discount ..

I was curious about this. For different reasons/perspective.  I've let Android restore my phone and to a different phone in the past and its worked REALLY well.  Why is there a need for such an app?

The fingerprint seems better than the Mate 20. It is also lower on the screen making it easier to use.

Not sure if the app is available devices other than Huawei. Will check on daughter's phone tomorrow. It does copy everything, including photos from internal memory and SD cards, apps and app data.

Therk:

freitasm: If you signed a contract for the plan then you are bound to those early termination fees. If you are not on a contract plan then you pay as described in my reply.

Sorry I meant the open term $40 plan - would I need to repay 12 months of the plan if I cancelled immediatelly? I.e. $480 back to 2dg.

Thats the point, if you are stuck to a plan for $40, a $401 discounted is negated by being stuck on a contract, even worse some have 24 month $59 plans. Thats not saving $401, thats sucking you in like a lamb to their nasty teeth.

Hi Guys,
Just an FYI on cloning the phone I found a Hauwei tutorial seems like it works on any Android or IOS device.

Yes, it works on other devices - the client is available. Here is what you see on the new phone:

And the call quality - apparenty no specific earpiece, just

"innovative use of electromagnetic levitation to vibrate the top of the screen to generate call audio"

Typical Telco sneaky dollar grabbing, $401 off, but you have to pay for the phone and $1440 in 24 months telco contract.

Is there any shop/telco that is doing an interest free period with no contract obligations with the $401 and watch? I doubt it.

Yes - vodafones offer is on open term plans above $59.99 per month

And from the discussions above, it appears 2D on $40 carryover plans on open term

Just at the Kids Tryathlon in Wellington... Had a call in the middle of the field, big loudspeakers playing music and announcements. In call sound was just fine.

Wow. That's insane!

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.
