Playtech site - Tech specs state no GPS! Is this correct? I was pretty much convinced that this was an available feature OS reviews?

Yes it does have GPS and clear fi does work with non Acer products as long as they support DLNA network. Non acer computers shouldn't be a problem as long as they are running window 7 HP or better.

It currently works on my sony TV at home

Hey Mark,

Great to see an Acer rep here. I think it is great to have some human feedback from the suppliers on places like these forums.

It may pay to update your suppliers on the GPS thing. Most spec sheets seem to say no GPS. PB Tech for example.

That's a shame.
Where is the breakdown?
Is your Wireless router G or N? Is the PS3 G? [I have one but I don't know]
Are you still going through 2 walls?

I assume you mean less storage memory as opposed to RAM.

I was thinking I would go the 16GB route and suppliment the storage with a 32GB SD-Card which can be obtained for less than the $140.00 price difference between the 16GB & 32GB versions at Playtech.

maybe better to get 32Gb version and then add another 32GB and you can have 64GB as oppossed to 48GB

julius: Oh the 10 is the number of simultaneous touches it registered.

Gotta agree about the usb; I left the charger at home one day and was oing a demo and had to leave it off so I had the juice. Not charging through the ubs is crazy. Also the Exchange functionality; weird that it doesn't exist in HoneyComb but does in Gingerbread and previous.

Sorry to harp on the same point, but does it accurately track multiple touches particularly if you rotate the touches? Some resistive screens become confused when the tracking crosses over. That's where the multi-touch test app I quoted comes in.

Not enough juice from a standard usb port to charge an iPad either.

Just had a play at Harvey's

Alas it was bolted down so no way to experience or test the gyro

Swipe & touch need a little getting used to!

I noticed that connecting to the the Internet (which it wasn't) offered Wifi or 3G. Does that mean 3G enablement might just a firmware upgrade in the future

The model on display has no music, video or even pictures on it (and no internet connection) so the evaluation is limited. I really wanted to feel the weight in my hands!

The display is right alongside the IPAD2's and a quick look I had not realised how closely aligned the pricing was. In fact the IPAD 2 is cheaper! I am not into apple, so not influenced. But when you have them side by side, the Acer has got to be very slick to complete.

I'd like one! I will just wait for the smaller more portable 7"

Which media player did you use? I've tried to play avi file (720p) on my A500 with in-built player and had similar lagging issues.

However, as soon as I change to "rock player", it works great! I believe this must due to some codec issues. You can download Rock player lite for free on Android market.
