Oblivian: Install kies
Plug in phone
If update available, install

If not, you need to root and install a non standard

The easiest thing to do would be to download one of the following and flash it via Odin.

Vodafone NZ
I9100XWLSD (4.1.2)
http://samsung-updates.com/details/8648/Galaxy_S_2/GT-I9100/VNZ/I9100XWLSD.html

Telecom NZ
I9100TDVLSH (4.1.2)
http://samsung-updates.com/details/8806/Galaxy_S_2/GT-I9100T/TNZ/I9100TDVLSH.html

This will give you the latest stock software without the need to do anything like root or install a custom recovery. You can of course still do this to the new software if you wish.
