I have a Galaxy S4 on which I am trying to test my website. The development version of the website is hosted on a local Windows desktop using WAMP. On the S4 I have turned on Wi-Fi and connected it to the PC via USB.

Using this setup I was able to browse to the website on my PC from the phone a few months ago, if I remember rightly using the IPv4 Address from the info returned by an ipconfig command.

Today, this is not working and the only thing that has changed is the modem/router. I am now using a HG630b from Spark.

Anyone got any suggestions re what may be causing the setup to fail? I'm thinking it's the modem but it could be configuration elsewhere, but I'm pretty certain nothing has changed elsewhere.

Cheers
John

Windows Firewall would have detected a change in the network configuration and changed your network type to a Public Network.

You'll need to go to the Network and Sharing center (in Control Panel), click on Public Network and change this to Home Network.
