just got this so might explain it.

Sky Rewards channel unlocks - we’re working on a fix!

We’re aware that some Sky customers are experiencing issues with the Sky Rewards channel unlock not working on the new Sky Box.

We’re very sorry if you have been affected, and we are working on fixing this issue right now. We anticipate this issue will be resolved soon and will contact you when it is fixed.

To apologise, and to thank you for your patience we are giving everyone with a new Sky Box an extra two weeks of Sky Rewards to enjoy. So, instead of the usual 2 weeks, you’ll enjoy a whole month of viewing of your unlocked channel (starting from when the issue is resolved).

Again, thank you for your patience. We’ll be in touch when this issue is resolved.

Anyone else find the overall volume level is lower for the new Skybox compared to the MySky?  I have to turn up my soundbar a lot more than other sources.

On the old Skybox I found the TVNZ (and I think TV3) channels significantly louder than the Sky channels, how do they compare on the new one?

We find TV3 a lot quieter with the new box. We used to watch the news on level 51 with our Marantz home theatre, now we have it set on 58-60. Haven't noticed much of a difference on any other channels

Now I know what we are missing with the new box, and I guess that now we have purchased the new box there will be no possibility of getting the old model.

Apart from reading the complaints on this forum I have not seen any adverse comments anywhere else, so I presume most customers are satisfied with the new model.

I don't think most customers are satisfied. Check out the comments on Sky's Facebook ads for the device (although seem to be cleared now and again). 100s of negative comments with automated responses from Sky.

I recently joined Facebook for the express purpose of seeing if there was any discussion on the new sky box but failed to find anything. Guess I wasn't looking in the right place.

Whenever I’ve seen a Sky Ad for the new box on Facebook (and that’s at least once a fortnight), there are quite a few critical comments, and unhappy customers commenting on support (well…..lack of effective support).

I usually point people to this discussion.

Plugged mine in today and is it’s outputting a HDR signal so the tv kicks into HDR mode. No matter what channel or app I use.

Anyone else have this? Haven’t found a setting to turn HDR off in the settings.

Sorry if this has already been answered - I haven't followed much of the discussion on the new box as I have the pod myself. But is there a way to remote record to the new box or has that not been implemented yet?

I set up the new box for my Mother in law over the weekend and all went smoothly. Worked fine and she got the hang of it quite quickly - she uses Sky Go a lot too so the interface didn't look too unfamiliar. But one thing she often does is set things to remote record either via Sky Go or the Sky account app - she would often do this when out or even at home as she found navigating the guide on her phone to be easier than on the TV. Neither seem to work with the new box. At a quick Google I found something in the Sky website saying this feature will be implemented for the new box in "mid 2023" so possibly it isn't yet. Just wondered if there's a setting or something we missed for it to work.

Thanks thought that must be the case. Hopefully not too far away then given the "mid 2023" promise.

Noticed it’s coming thru at 2160k too. Not sure what actual quality of sky feed is as I thought it is 1080i but does say 2160k.

Trying to decide the best and most effective way of getting the RWC to a second Room in September. Only need that functionality for the 6 weeks of the tournament. I have a Satellite box and will record and watch every match, but I really want equivalent functionality to my MySky. Equally good picture and ability to start watching a match whenever suits me, including starting a match 20 minutes after it starts recording.
