That's on the price level, sure. But they probably pay quite a bit to supply the package you've enjoyed under the reduced price. If you're getting it for $58 per month (or whatever it was) and it actually costs them $100 to provide it...can you see where I'm going?
I don't believe he does, despite his following post. There is a cost to provide, and promos are not cost-plus. Its possible I want it cheap and I want it now. Perhaps.
Sky could say, bugger it, this is the price, but like any business they chase new customers. But some new customers chase and chase. Thats not reasonable.
Yes they chase new customers and try to lock them in for life, but consumers are actually evolving and sometimes getting one step ahead of the suppliers, the term I signed up to was 6 months in which I couldn't change the plan and a further 6 months at the discounted price where I was free to add or remove services as I saw the need, as the term of the agreement had run it's course I also find it strange that they can lock me in for a further 28 days after I confirm my cancellation of subscription, what would the reason for that be? I know, because they want it to be too hard for people to be bothered canceling.
Sky are not the only service that has a 28 or 30 day notice period. I'm sorry but you seem to want everything for your terms not the real terms
The thing is, consumers are being done over by big companies like this and don't even realise it, Sky has increased it's net profit (before tax) by 63% over the past 5 years, if you're the type of consumer that wants to pay the asking price that's fine by me, I'll be more than happy to provide you with a Starter motor, Crank Sensor or a New GPS for your boat at the RRP
