is the stand down period 60 days?  are the options still 2 out of sports/movies/soho?

Pretty much. A quick call would have the facts straight from the source though :)

They don't bite!

It can be any two premium channels (with the exception of the Rugby Channel, which must have Sports as the other package). I had Sports + Rialto when I was on this deal.

Wow, how to see the wood for the trees in this thread, given the amount of "comment"!

I've never been that tempted to get Sky, given its inflated cost, but this offer could be something worth looking at given the inclusion of "premium" channels.

So, to confirm, I may be able to get Sky basic, MySky HDI, HD Ticket,  and two premium channels (in my case Rialto and SoHo) for $50 a month?

Also, how long is that price fixed at $50 for?

Thanks!

$60 per month for two premium packages + HD ticket. It last for one year, minimum contract is 6 months. You cannot change packages once you have selected them, and cannot have been a Sky customer in the three months before joining.

These posts are a change from the moronic posts we usually see with Sky.

Hi Jonathan

Yeah, it annoys me too.  Unfortunately there are a few threads going that way... seems to be the same crowd commenting too.

Here's what you need to know....

You could try ringing 0800 4 SKY TV (0800 475 988)

This is their telemarketers, not their regular consumer line, so they provide much better deals than sky can.

It's a 6 month contract but the service is for 12 months... so you can opt out without a break fee after 6 months

afaik the deal includes

- Sky Basic
- Mysky+
- two premium channels

It does not include the HD ticket ($10 extra).  But it seems some people are getting sport only so are getting the HD ticket included for $50.

The negative is that after 11 months you've got to cancel (one months notice) or they will start charging you full price.

Cheers

Kirk.

This is what the usual posts are on this thread when it is not hijacked by people making off-topic generalised comment... good isn't it.

We've gone with the sport route ($39 per month) and then put the $10 HD ticket on top.

You get a Sky mag for the first month only on that deal.  If you have sport and movies, you get the mag for free.  It's that stuff called paper, so so old fashioned anyway...

The telemarketers are loosely linked into the Sky systems.  I say that simply as a warning that the install may not be a smooth as you hope, or it might be also.

In my case I arranged an install time/date with the telemarketer and my wife took a day off work to be around.

No show.  Came the following week.  Didn't setup the HD ticket we asked for etc.

Fine now, but just a heads up is all.

Given the Olympics are coming, and the coverage looks to be non existent outside of Sky, I'm happy we got this deal.

I've enjoyed the F1 coverage, the warriors (actually won a game last week) and the rugby.

I'll cancel on the off season, and may resign the following year.

We've been very pleased with the deal (Basic, Movies & SOHO) having come back from Netflix/Lightbox. Well worth the money IMO.

There were some issues with scheduling the installer due to another branch handling it for some reason.

The 0800 4 SKYTV number appears to go to a voicemail service now.. Was hoping to get the deal... might keep trying.
