With Igloo closing down in a couple of months, I wonder how many customers have taken up Sky's offer to join them? Or would former Igloo subscribers be more like to stay "stuff it, I won't have any pay TV"?

It must almost be time for an influx of Sky subscriptions for the $49 deal...

Some would have returned their device to the retailer for a refund. Freeview plus an online service like lightbox, netflix, amazon prime etc are going to be good options for many.

Does anybody know if the answer to this thread is still valid?

Im looking at ringing up in the next day or so, I've been off Sky since 15th October, so 3 months.

Can I still sign up as myself?

Thanks.

I signed up a couple of weeks ago.

$60.95 for Basic + Sports + Bein + HD and it comes with the newer Sky+ box (or whatever it's called). Has 1TB drive anyway.

Was installed two days later.

They asked me if anyone else at the address had been a Sky customer in the last 30 days/3 months (I cant remember) so I would assume you couldn't ask your wife to register.

It would be interesting to know if they did any checking on it though, especially as my wife kept her own name. Would they be that bothered with such a low number using this way of signing up ?

They are pretty friendly and they don't work for Sky directly.  If I were you I would ring and ask them if there is any way you can sign up.  They will tell you.

Only 30 days stand down - awesome - thought it was 3 months for some reason. I just cancelled after 11 months on this deal (waiting for the 28 day cancellation period now). Will then wait the 30 days and sign up again, will be the 3rd time!

I can definitely confirm they don't work for Sky. The sales person described Sky as "Useless people who done[sic] know how to use email". Apparently Sky don't like sending e-mails to people with one of the new TLDs. Sky's loss, they need to post me an invoice each month. Weird though, I can use the same e-mail address for my Sky Go account.

That sounds strange... I get emailed a bill each month.

Do you have one of the new TLDs though? Like mail@host.digital ? There's quite a few sites (like NZ Lotto and Orcon) just just outright refuse to use anything that doesn't end in a 2-4 character TLD (like .nz or .com)
