That's frustrating, as I couldn't get this a few weeks ago!
Previously its been a 6 month contract, but the price is for 12 months.
These deals feel like the original deals, which I would have thought don't easily match the new Sky package format after these were restructured?

The only difference between the old packages and new one is that Sky Basic was separated into Sky Starter and Sky Entertainment. That, and free SoHo if you have entertainment and either Sports or Movies. Since the deals through the telemarketers offer zero, one or two add packs, it is still easy to match.
I have had SKY for years, was spending $103 a month, Basic+Entertainment, Movies (now including Free SoHo), HD ticket, MY SKY+ (1TB) recording and SKY Watch magazine.
I asked for deal a while ago and got a few months free HD or something similar, nothing huge, as I didn't actually try to cancel.
This time, I called and said I wanted to cancel, and they got someone to call me back to try and get me to stay.
Just got offered: Free Movies (and SoHo) and Free MySky+ (1TB) recording for 3 months, with no obligation after the 3 months, and I cancelled the SkyWatch Magazine, got it down to $60 a month for the next 3 months.
I considered it and asked if it was the best they could do, and they also offered me 10 Free Pay Per View movies also.
Better than nothing, as I would have to pay up to $200 to get the Freeview sorted ( I Need my VHF aerial replaced with UHF and re-cabled) and pull out the Freeview Recorder instead.
Can anyone advise on a good TV Aerial installer in Auckland? Also where to watch UKTV shows? My wife loves Casualty (looks like you can get off YouTube) and Holby City (YouTube videos are terrible quality for this show)and we are 2 years behind the UK, so BBC iPlayer is out.
Call and say you are cancelling (and be prepared to cancel) and you might get a deal. Don't forget they ask for 28 days notice!
I signed up to the special deal yesterday. I previously had Sky on the old deal, but killed it just after a year. I had 1.5 months without it and have just signed up to the new deal.
MySky+, Sky Starter, Sky Entertainment & Sky Sports for 12 months for $48.99 per month.
A bit disappointed that I'm paying more than 20% of my package price (an extra $9.99 per month) on an upgrade to allow me to watch sport in HD. That probably seemed like a good idea for Sky when they introduced it 9 years ago, but now it just seems insane. Anyway, it's a bit of an unavoidable tax so I guess I have to bite my tongue.

That looks like a great deal which I'll probably get. I'm looking to get back into Sky after not having it for awhile. Cricket World Cup is next year from late May to Mid July which means not leaving the house for almost 7 weeks :)

Did they give you the new box or one of the old Pace ones (the big wide ones)?
I just rang 0800 475 988 and talked to the lady; she's still running the $39 deal for starter + mysky + sport. price locked in for 12 months, can cancel after 6 months. Price goes to full retail after 12 months.
She used to have a full call centre, but is now just her - sky wouldn't buy her 0800 number back, but is letting her keep doing the deals (retirement fund she said)
Such a legend!
Full call centre would specialise in cancellations these days.

I signed up to this $48.99 per month deal yesterday, for the basic MySky box. Had 30 days sky free
