So I hope someone here know hows to do this as I can't find anything online and Sky aren't much help either.

My Sky Box, a Motorola DTH230-4 has recently stopped working with the TV.
I'm thinking someone in the house has changed a connection setting on the box itself (most likely from its default setting) so when the box is connected to the TV the following message is displayed:

"Mode Not Supported.
Resolution not supported. Change the resolution of the external device"

It's connected via the Component connection that came with it to the back of TV and SCART to the back on Sky Box and these cables haven't been touched hence why I think its an internal setting. Unfortunately due to nothing being displayed on the TV I can't have a look or reset the box from the menu.

Anyone know of an external way to reset the box to is factory settings so I can set it up from scratch or even resetting the output settings.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Apsattv: Yes you can factory reset the receiver using a combination of pressing the colour buttons on the remote , however I can't recall the procedure.

Try red, green, yellow blue, then power button on remote see if that works.

Or you could just try connecting the box to TV via composite video or even an rf cable (and tune in with the TV's analogue tuner) so you can see the menu.
