I'm not sure what's Sky's deal is with this $16 deal. Surely the bandwidth used for viewing on a mobile device is the same as streaming via Chromecast. One is $16 per month, and the other is $56 per month.

 

 

 

 

You can see the logic, you just have to pretend like it's 2009.

 

Selling to their phone will open up a new group of customers, ones who instatwit and bookface a lot, without cutting into their current customer base with real TV's.

 

Works well until you point out the obvious ability to cast it to the TV.


Fanpass is and always was what a lot of people were after, just higher res and more reliable.  Sky did that stupid thing of pricing it beyond what people could stomach, again to protect their TV customer base, and then Sky had the audacity to say we tried streaming options and people didn't want it!?!
