Hello there,

I was wondering why there is HD video pixelation from MYSKYHDi decoder. Is there any component failure with the decoder or any other cause might lead to this problem???

Is this happening on the Olympics channels or any channel? There is sometimes some pixelisation on the Olympics feeds which is due to the satellite feeds from the Olympics.

If it is on all HD channels it is probably a signal issue with your dish or LNB. What do the signal strengths say in the setup of the HDi?

Welcome to Geekzone!

Cheers, Matt.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

The problem is with all HD channels... The SD channels are all fine with no pixelation, however all HD channels are causing this problem...... i haven't checked the signal strengths, however the voltages on the tuner is fine... is there anything in the decoder which splits the incoming feed into HD and SD and cause the problem only with HD??

Check what signal levels you are getting on the 4 tuners.

Please define what you call "Pixelation" are you refering to compression artifacts in the image or a disruption of the broadcast signal showing the image breaking into coloured blocks.

Sometime you will see that, its as broadcast from their source feed. E.G Garbage in garbage back out.

I don't have an HD skybox here to check it. but have seen it a few times on Prime on terrestrial.

Well i checked the respective strength and quality of tuners
Tuner 1 strength 61bduV quality 12.8 db
Tuner 2 strength 63bduV quality 13.8 db
Tuner 3 strength 64bduV quality 13.7 db
Tuner 4 strength 63bduV quality 14.2 db

It seems to be OK, however the pixelation is still there :( dont know what is causing this problem

From memory I think that's pretty good, one other thing to check is do you have any wifi etc near the decoder? Hopefully Cyril7 will see the thread and give some advice.

Maybe PM him and ask?
