Hello

Have had a quick look around here but no answers that jumps out.

I've recently got rid of Sky and am looking at options that allow me to view TV and hopefully record it to a USB device. I have a 2015 LG 4K TV (49UF770V-TA) - I understand this has a built-in Freeview tuner. Ideally I'd like to be able to programme the tuner to record remotely, although this isn't a deal breaker. Do I need to get a STB if I want to record? I haven't been able to determine the capabilities of my TV in this regard.

Also, I'd like to still be able to watch certain sports events (primarily rugby) but can't justify paying about $80/month for the privilege. So FanPass 2.0 looks like an option (I have fibre too, so hopefully no network dramas) - are there other options for streaming SKySport - even if it comes from abroad via satellite??

Matthew

For Rugby you can use rugbypass.com although you'll aslo need to use a DNS redirect service.  I use dns4me.net and it works well.

@rp1790 - how do you stream it onto the TV - do you have an app or do you connect via a PC?

I play it on my iPad and then Airplay to my Apple TV.  Works really well and it's a good HD stream, at least 720p.

Thanks, well worth it. Will check over the weekend. Hopefully my DNS provider will let me pretend I'm in HK or wherever needed (Unlocator).

Thanks for the replies - very helpful.

The DNS redirecting - is that tricky to figure out? I assume it's a service one subscribes to too?
