I am running MySky HDi through a Triax 54 Portable Dish.

I aligned the dish using the included Satellite Finder meter, I have a strong signal, and all of the Sky TV channels work fine, but TV1, TV2 and TV3 all either give the T100 "No Signal" error screen, or the picture is very pixelated and unwatchable.

Has anyone here ever heard of this happening before, and if so, is there a fix for this.

PS: anyone know the code/key sequence for getting to the signal strength meter in the MySky decoder?

PPS: It works fine on TV1+1, TV2+1 and TV3+1

If you are paying Sky for HD then all of those problem channels are on the same DVB-S2 transponder (12358 MHz), along with the SM Greats, SM Extra and TAB Trackside 2 HD channels.  If those other channels are also giving you trouble, it is a problem with that frequency somehow.

If you are not paying for HD, then the problem channels are actually transmitted by Freeview, not Sky, and are on two DVB-S transponders on 12456 MHz (Three) and 12483 MHz (TVNZ).

Thanks for your reply.

I don't subscribe to the movie channels so I cannot check them, but both Trackside channels 62 & 63 are working fine. I also get the Rugby Channel (is that an HD channel?) and that works fine. TV1, 2 and 3 were working fine yesterday, but now they are not.

I did read somewhere that a slight misalignment of the dish can cause some channels to work and some to not work, but I'm not sure that this is true, and I don;t want to mess with it without knowing if it true or not.

My channel scan does not show an HD version of the Rugby Channel, only SD on 12581 MHz.  If you are on HD and are getting TAB Trackside 2 (63), then it is not a problem with the whole transponder.  So I have no idea why you would have a problem with some channels and not others if you can receive that transponder.  Reception or not is per transponder - if you get any channels on a transponder, you should get all of them as a transponder simply sends out lots of data packets marked for which channel stream they belong to, and your receiver picks out the packets for the channel you want.

Are you getting the HD versions of 1,2,3? if so you may need to  tweak the lnbf a little as there are vertical polarity signals nearby.

How can I tell which versions I am receiving?

I think the HD thing is a red herring. AFAIA I'm not paying anything extra for HD, so unless HD is free with TV1, TV2 and TV3, they will be in SD

My problem was that TV1, TV2 and TV3 were all either showing the T100 error or very, very pixelated and unwatchable, while the one-hour delayed versions (501, 502 and 503) worked fine.

NOTE: TV1 2 & 3 were back working fine this a.m.--- go figure.

Tv123+1 are all Sd and come off the Freeview transponder which is why they are fine.

You don't need to be paying for HD ticket to get 1,2,3 in HD they are supplied by default if you have the SKY HD receiver

The HD feeds of 1,2,3 Come off Sky's transponder which is DVB S2 and more fussy about signal levels. A 54 cm portable dish can easily be out by enough to effect only the dvb s2 transponder reception.

I see many posting on facebook sky tv page about 1,2,3 being off while the +1 channel are all fine..

Ok so it is true that a slight mislignment can cause those channels to be compromised.

Do you know how I can access the signal level meter on the MySkyHDi box?

Tuner 4.... 169/13.........82 dBuV......11.9 dB

and this is mine

INPUT.......NID.TSID.....Sig Str.......Sig Qual

Tuner 1.....169/4...........77 dBuV.....7.3 dB

Tuner 2.....169/3...........75 dBuV.....8.0 dB
