So we have one of the new sky decoders at work, I cannot find anywhere in which I can change the settings so its connected to our wireless. The only settings I seem to be able to adjust are the favourite channels.

If anyone has any ideas I would be very grateful!

Do you have the wireless dongle? All the ones I have seen have a separate wireless module

Yeah you need to get the (free) wifi adapter from Sky. Connect it into the decode ethernet port and go into the decoder setup menu and find the 'internet' settings.

Even though it has a wifi light on the decoder itself?

I guess that's different to our decoder (brand new mySkyHDi plus) - Sky delivered it with the wifi adapter but as there's wired LAN there I never used it.

depending on the decoder and here I am assuming its not a mysky+ or mysky HDi. I am assuming its a little new one.

press setup

press down blue arrow key until you see Internet connection

press select. WAIT. A list of wireless networks will show up.

arrow key down or up until you get to the network you want. Press select.

Enter the wifi password using the remote.

Done as follows:

Number 1 has symbols and the umber 1

ABC 2 abc

DEF 3 def

GHI 4 ghi

JKL 5 jkl

MNO 6 mno

PQRS 7 pqrs

TUV 8 tuv

WXYZ 9 wxyz

0 is for space

enter password, press select.

Depending on decoder

mysky+ and mysky HDi - skylink will bring up 2 white lights when connected properly

skybox will bring up 2 green lights when connected properly.

WPS

mysky+ and mysky HDi - WPS is on skylink - use as usual

skybox - right side under the sky logo is a little button beside the inactive USB (unless you have a special usb stick like my installer had), press this for WPS.

Once connected in all cases the decoder will show you a screen showing network name, signal strength (blue bar) and a IP address.

I have had to do this a few times as the bloody kids fiddle with the decoder.

Good luck sorry its so long winded.

if using LAN on any decoder I think auto is the option (DCHP) from memory.

All sorted thank you, it turns out I had just not seen all of the options. The menu design isn't the easiest to navigate.
