Just went to watch some Mr. Robot, but it looks Season 1 and 2 having gone missing recently. Season 3 seems to be still available. Does this mean Lightbox have lost the New Zealand streaming rights for Mr. Robot to someone else? Any idea which streaming service? I don't mind paying to watch, but I don't know who to give my money to!

It's more than likely the licensing agreement came to and end and Lightbox opted not to renew

Couldn't see what streaming service has it unfortunately

That's pretty frustrating if true. I kind of assume that these licensing deals work on a highest bidder kind of situation. So if Lightbox refused to renew at a certain cost, the rights-holders would have shopped it round. If no one wanted it, they would drop the price. I would assume this would all happen before the current contract lapses.

There's no point in the rights-holders having no one paying for the rights. That's a dumb negotiating tactic. It just pushes people towards piracy.

Yep, I just checked Netflix and Amazon and not on any of them. (New Zealand Versions)

Lightbox seems to keep programs a lot less longer then others, which puts more pressure on it to watch, when comes out.

I was watching Warehouse 13 which haven't seen and it was pulled while watching it. I got through all of Eureka, before they pulled it. Think I just scraped in on that one. Netflix pulls stuff but a least it's there for more then a couple of months.

Vikings, Lightbox only has a couple of seasons, they get latest season before Netflix, but at least Netflix starts from season 1 for people not seen any and better quality, with DD5.1

Can do the old way legally in NZ,

Warehouse DVD

Blu-ray is over twice price DVD $15 vs over $30 season 1 Mr Robot.

@jol I'm a bit late to the thread, but it is on the US Amazon Prime. I don't know if you have means of accessing that though.

Hey guys

When it comes to contents, it's all up to the studio agreements.

Most of the time we only have licences for specific timeframes...

We will start getting better with letting our users know when something is due to expire by tagging "Leaving Soon"...

Hope this can solve the problem in the future.
