If have one of those RF thingies for control of Sky TV in different rooms and it has got very sluggish (yes have checked and charged the batteries). Guess it’s over 10 years old.
Have looked through the posts on here but very conflicting views on what is best. It’s a pity Sky NZ haven’t got A into G and given us a smart phone option for changing channels, fast forward etc.
Any word of anything in the pipeline?

Are you looking for a new IR remote extender or looking for news on something completely different coming up/in the pipeline?

So exactly how do you control a Sky box that's in a cupboard, from the couch in front of the TV, using your device?

The remote that comes with the hub is RF, or an app on your device, and the hub is in the cupboard with the sky box.

IR blaster on it, or you can plug a wired extension one into it and place it close to the box if reflections around the place are not good enough, I havent had to do that and can hit IR controlled candles at the other end of the room from my harmony hub just fine. White seems to reflect it better than wood.

The current NZ Sky TV remote (and RF controllers) must in human life years be 150+!
In other areas of the world they have smart phone Apps to manage viewing.
Gad when visit the grandkids they even have an App to fill the bath.
Come on Sky - get your act together.

Well if you had taken time to absorb it, you would see that Sky are rolling out apps and so on. So you don’t understand the presentation but you come back here and berate Sky saying “Apps are used overseas. Come on Sky, get your act together”. Bit pathetic IMO.

Not easy to buy because no prices on their website, you can't easily get a price, have to go to an electrical wholesaler, who will likely have to order it in after you pay in advance etc.

It's not aimed at the consumer market - for custom installers. Probably very good stuff but sure to be very expensive - like the Blueeye gear.
