I could not find a definitive thread on this forum for users to discuss the setup, calibration and tuning of MySky HDi decoders.

Can anyone help me out here?

I've had a MySky HDi decoder for about 3 months, but I only had a SD TV. I finally got an LCD HD TV yesterday and  I've had my service upgraded to the HD content, but I don't know what are the best settings and configurations to use.

For example, should I use component or HDMI connections.

Should I force the output to 1080i, leave it on Auto, or use "Passthrough"

HDCP warnings? What should this be set at?

Pillar boxing vs. 14x9 for non-widescreen?

Things I haven't thought of?

Just a bit of experimenting really for your individual tastes but may I suggest the following:

1.   hdmi
2.   auto
3.   default
4.   pillar-box if you want to see the whole picture.  There isn't a screen burn issue with lcd if the black side stripes are present for extended periods.

I've got my MySkyHD set to 1080 only so it upscales the non 1080 ichannels to 1080i. Otherwise switching channels the MySky I have has to swap resolutions all the time when changing channels and it takes a short while for the TV t get back in sync/switch resolutions and can be anoying.

Different TV's may be different. Just give it a try

OK....another question:

I can't seem to get 1080i to work through component output, is that right?

I've got the output set to HD/Component, but when I go to TV3 or SkySport I get a message about MySky not recognizes my TV and that it will default to SD output.

Is HD/1080i supposed to work through component?

No i'm afraid not. HD over HDMI with HDCP for most channels.
