We have to dial zero to get an outside line at our new house as we have a pabx.
How do I teach my myskyhdi box to dial zero?
Is this a phone call to sky or can i do it.
Sky system setup detects the phone line and I have a phone line working on a double adaptor connected to that socket so I know that it works.
Any suggestions.?
Thanks

Slightly OT but that's the first ever PBX I've ever heard or come across using 0 as a predigit, that's extremely strange! Is this an IP PBX or traditional analogue?

If it's IP you could just reconfigure it to remove the predigit as they are totally unnecessary in the VoIP world.

I've never heard of the ability to add a predigit to a Sky box but Sky would obviously be the best people to contact.

Sounds Australian PBX system. Can you hotline the ext that the Sky modem is on or you could get a privacy adaptor and have the PBX trunk on one jack and the Sky unit on the other. This way they won't interfere with each other..

The modem dial prefix is set in the installer menu. On the remote press:

<active><1><4><0759><select><3>

Enter your prefix and don't forget to save.

great work getting into the installer menu!
but however despite changing the modem prefix to 0 it still wouldn't go through.
Maybe i have to get the alarm guys who put in the unifone pabx(which is essentially just to talk to our door lock) to set that line outside the pabx?

I spoke to an engineer and SKY decoders behind a PABX can have an issue with line voltage. I understand that Telecom standard is 50V and the decoders are set to recognise 25-50V. Some PABXs use a standard 25V on their extensions and, if this drops a bit, the decoder can fail to recognise that a line is attached.

You don't need to add a few pauses after the first 0?
This is usually done with a comma Eg: ,,,,

That looks like Telecom's advice that their Neax are nominally 50v (44 -56v) and derived equipment usually a current source with only 24v open loop. I recall pabx with only 16v.

I think that, if you specify a modem dial prefix on a SKY decoder, then a standard delay (probably equivalent to one comma) is inserted. There's no way to change that delay on a MySKY HDi.

Thanks for all the above help on this, I got our security guys to come back and put the two sky decoders phone jack extensions in front of the pabx so they don't have to dial zero.
No problems anymore.

Cheers everyone.
