Am I going insane?

I've been watching as many games live as possible - and it's been excellent, pic quality is amazing, sound a little disappointing with my 5.1 setup (but still ok despite vuvuzelas).

But after missing some matches lately, I've watched the highlights show twice (not the Sky highlights channel, but the proper highlights programme (about 90 minutes long) recapping all supposed highlights from the days games).

1st time: Aussie vs Ghana. Australia's opening goal wasn't shown AT ALL. Despite showing other pointless highlights, fouls, countless replays off Kewell's handball, injuries, etc.

2nd time: Switzerland vs Chile: Switzerland's red card not shown AT ALL, despite EVERY yellow card and other numerous fouls etc being shown.

I had to rewind etc my mySky in case I was going crazy. Do Sky put these highlights packages together themselves, or get them sent to them?

I'd imagine they're pre-packaged and distributed by whoever has the actual filming/broadcast rights in Sth Africa.

The show is a shambles...

- Martin Devlin is the wrong choice, i like him a lot, but he's trying to hard to be funny
- They don't bother spending 15 seconds before each game to show us the team line ups
- No game clock or score onscreen
- They have too many 'magazine style' features like showing a kid doing freestyle, and a background on Nigeria, they only have around 42 mins of screen time, why waste it, as of today the show features 4 games in that time.

Fortunate to have SKY, but at time i wanted to watch this show, but it could be so much better...

Different show!  You are talking about the one on channel one before the news, the OP is talking about the one on sky 1 and 2 before the news!  No martin in the sky one!!

To be honest i'm a little bit disappointed...sure the pic quality is great but the commentators, presenters i dont like, i know its a general feed going to loads of countries but!  I wonder how much sky would have to shell out for the BBC or ITV coverage from the UK, after all we get BSKYB coverage of cricket, superleague, BBC coverage of F1, Wimbledon . Just a thought.

The Sky highlights have indeed been awful. Penalties not shown, red cards not shown, missed goals the list goes on.

Actually Ive been very disappointed with the Sky coverage overall. Sure they are showing every game, but the commentator is rubbish and there is absolutely no analysis after the game. Why bother showing the interviews when they are conducted in the native tongue !

Ive been watching the BBC highlights package instead and although you have to put up with Linekar, Hansen etc its far better.

Did anybody see the Sky replay of the Ghana v USA game today? It went into extra time. Instead of showing the entire extra 30 minutes, they just showed the goal and the final whistle. Just so that they can fit the replay into the 2 hour segments that they have allocated each replay.

I'm going to have to wake up for the games now - can't rely on the Sky replays.
