Last night my Sky (Standard receiver) went out around 9-ish and kicked back into action a few moments ago (around 12:50am) and I was wondering if anyone else's went out.

It could be my LNB is on the way out since it's the oval shaped one and I have, in the past, read on here that they tend to fail so it could be that. But perhaps it's that time of the year when our friend mother nature goes on the rag and is a real b***h towards our signals.

My setup
Sony Bravia KDL-26BX320
Sony Blu Ray Player BDP-S360
Panasonic DMR-XW380

There was mention that there could be some interruptions from the sun which could interrupt satellite reception right in the middle of some of the morning rugby matchs being played, maybe its that.

It was dark at the time so the sun strike can be ruled out.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Was it dark time on the actual satellite? I know they're 400?Kms up (low earth orbit), but is there a possibility?

Sun outages are caused when the Sun is in line with the satellite and your dish. It would be daytime only and only for minutes not hours.

don't mess with me.... i'm the hd insider....
