Is anyone else waiting for this? The iphone one seems to have been out for ages. Surely there are more people in NZ with android phones than iphones.

Sky UK have had an android app for about 18 months. Why is our Sky so slow?

Ihave asked them and they have been saying that they have one on development and that was 6 months ago.

Using that argument  so did the iPhone app and there are possibly more Android users.

I asked why it would take so long considering that the other Sky organisations around the world had both apps sorted and got shot down with the companies only shared the same name. They also share the same major shareholder and others have noted that Murdoch doesn't waste money and the various Sky companies while being separate also share the same technology as far as possible.

Anyone know if Chaz has left the building?

From the "Is corporate NZ ignoring Android" thread:

http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=97&topicid=93352&page_no=2

I emailed Sky about their Android app they have been developing since April. The answer:

this is still under development and no dates have been confirmed to date.

I would have thought the UK Sky+ android app would have been an easy port or even the Foxtel Android app. Maybe I should give them their phone numbers.... Oh that's right they are part of the same group...

Cheers, Matt.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.
