Hi guys

Just wondering if the multiroom requirement for sports streaming on isky has been removed.

because: http://www.isky.co.nz/support/help_and_support/whats_available_to_you_on_isky/default.aspx

there is no mention of it here. Can anyone confirm?

See this page:

http://www.vodafone.co.nz/entertainment/tv/sky/isky/

You need to have multiroom to be able to watch sky sports live on a PC.

I know this is for sky with Vodafone but it would be the same with any provider as it's a Sky policy.

I was aware of vodafones page, but the fact that multiroom is ommitted from sky's page indicated to me that this requirement had been removed and that vodafones page had not been updated yet.

It's a pretty salient point for sky to leave out if multiroom is still required...

Well i just logged into isky and went to watch sports and it says:

"To view SKY Sport 1 you must have a Sport subscription."

Doesn't say anything about multiroom.

Wouldn't the easy answer be to call Sky and simply ask them?

Well it seems evident that you no longer need multiroom. I did call but was on hold for eternity. I also emailed them but have yet to get a response, so I thought I'd be proactive and post here.

Thanks for your help Smile

It is strange they haven't officially announced it though, considering it's an advantage.

They posted a tweet saying sports subscribers can watch the BCS Championship game on espn3 through isky. (as it was on at the time) I replied asking if multiroom wasn't a requirement anymore but no reply.

iSKY no longer requires multiroom to view live sport, this was dropped during the world cup

There was a brief announcement through their facebook page.

It was a stupid requirement for sky to impose anyway.

I agree it was rather stupid although I can see why they did it as it effectively gives you multiroom sport.  Glad it's no longer required though.... :)

This may have been covered elsewhere, but just as sky don't want you 'multirooming' to another house, what measures have they put in place to ensure you don't release your isky password/account for others to view?

Surely the likes of students would widely spread this around the flats etc. I'm not sure if it allows simultaneous connections, but presumably several groups could all be viewing online with the same log on details. What are sky doing to prevent/monitor this?

Probably only allows one connection at a time per username, (not sure, haven't tried it myself) and currently only one iSky username is allowed per account.
