Hey guys, I have been emailing Phones Direct (Lynne and Paul) about getting n900 in NZ.
Lynn finally got back to me saying they might get it in around 1st or 2nd week of december.
Just emailed them back asking how much they are selling it for... awaiting reply. will update once they tell me.

PS. I have ordered mine n900 from newegg and done shipito as well but so far no news :(

Apologies euanandrews, your research on the N900 and it's availability has been brilliant, plus your postings on the n97 were a good read.

If that's not enough love for you then there are lots of other websites out there that can help! Laughing

yeah I did talked to the Parallel Import people too. They said the price of the N900 will be more t han 1400NZD. Therefore I am Pre-ordering it from USA instead. Got a family there but buying it from Ebay. Amazon.com is cheaper by far but don't have American Express. So Im going with the Paypal method.

Keep an update on the N900 guys. Who ever the first NZder to own it ?

What I was getting at was I researched the idea with NZtechfreak of using a mail forwarding company like shipito to be able to import from a US website like Amazon, and the huge savings involved...we have another thread specifically discussing this import method over on Nokiausers.net
NZtechfreak researched with me, but was the first one of us to test the service, so his input has been invaluable.

As for other help...there is no hope, i'm a lost cause mate. Tongue out

I've heard some rumour about the N900, the first shipment will be the only one by ship, then by air but after than there will be a delay until February 2010. Hope this is not true. I pre-ordered mine and the money already deducted from the account.

Hello all,

Pre-ordered of Amazon...sweet.
Used Kiwi Creditcard (kiwibank visa) but US shipping address (to my mate) who will onship to me.

So as far as the billing and shipping addresses matching, this is not the case for me.

Makes sense as I'm sure plenty of people buy gifts and have them sent to another address.

Hope the delays are not as reported and I'll have a n900 for xmas.

@Janszoon, that's good to hear that the billing and shipping address don't need to be the same. However I did read in a blog a while ago that Amazon is trying to clamp down the onshipping purchases. How they'll do that, I'm not too sure. But I'd suppose if they do an audit on the frequency of the shipping addresses then that could lead to "vendors" like ShipItTo?

so how does one purchase something for 'a friend' on Amazon, surely they cant stop people buying stuff and having it shipped to thier 'mate' who happens to live in ther US ?

Anyways, worked for me.

seem to be some factory fault on random phone. May be due to missed handle during the transit. But to preventing this issues testing if the microphone is working while plugged the power into it then leave it charging the phone overnight before start using it.

There a few people reported that the screen is dead (Blackout) out of the box as well. But this might be DOA or missed handle during transit as well.
