temon01: So now we know the phone is out are we still doing a bulk buy or are we finding our own way of getting the phone. Sorry me impatient too.

We decided not to buy in bulk as not only are we already able to achieve massive savings by importing, but doing individually we can possibly also avoid paying tax, saving another hundred or so...
If we were to receive a shipment in bulk, it would be obvious it would require payment of tax so we would miss that potential saving.
Therefore the cheapest, and easiest way logistically, is to purchase and import individually.
Myself, I have ordered 2 through Amazon USA.
maxximuscool: You cannot order from USA through Amazon to NZ. You have to order it to deliver to some friend or relatives house. Then then can ship it to you after.
kitretter: So how do I go about getting it shipped to my NZ address through Amazon again?
Are the details on how to do that in this thread?
If not, can you point me towards whatever thread it was.
I'm keen to order just after Xmas for myself but keen to hear some reviews once GZ users get their hands on them!
Cheers

Not correct.
There are ways around the Amazon shipping restrictions.kitretter: So how do I go about getting it shipped to my NZ address through Amazon again?

Step 1: Setup an account with an freight forwarding company such as Shipito.com (that is what NZtechfreak and myself have used), they will give you a US address to use.
Step 2: Purchase the Nokia N900 through your chosen site (Amazon) using the US address you were given in the 1st step.
Step 3: If you are using a credit card, call your bank and ask them to make the primary address the same as the US address you were given in the 1st step, this means your billing address will be the same as your US postal address, which is required by Amazon (I used my debit card which the bank tells me does not have an address assigned to it like credit cards, so that's a non issue for me).
Step 4: On the freight forwarding website (Shipito.com) choose your shipping method (eg. USPS or FedEx) which will have different costs and different speeds, and make sure your own NZ delivery address is correct.
Step 5: Once the Nokia N900 arrives at the freight forwarding company (Shipito.com), you will be notified and told the exact shipping costs, which you will have to pay before it is then sent to your NZ address.
You will also have to fill out a declaration form for tax purposes, so you can actually declare how much the item is worth (hence you could value it lower to avoid paying tax/GST)
Once you have filled out the declaration form and paid for the shipping, the Nokia N900 will be forwarded to your NZ address.
Done.
That may seem like allot, but its actually really easy.
