Hey fellas,

I just got a Samsung z400v from vodafone and I'm trying to load some free apps that I got off the net, into my phone.  Firstly, I think vodafone locks all their phones so you can't send content that they don't want you to send to your phone, so the "applications" folder isn't visible from my computer, and the option to copy to it isn't there.  Secondly, if I do try to open it in "other documents" it says "wrong format".  Do I need to unlock my mobile or do something special to get it back to factory freshness?  Or am I stuck with the scodaphone-ness?  And if I do manage to rid it of vodafone, will I still get video calling and mobile tv?  Or will it no longer work?

Cheers,
Keith

Yup - i tink voddyfone wants u to use Vodyfone live to pay tthem for their listed programs and games + stuff. I used the phone to browse http://www.getjar.com/ - there are quite a few free apps u can download directly to your phone - costing only the download data charges - i downloaded about 20 apps for around 3 bucks vodyfone costs. Some of the progs are demos or may not work on your phone as they are formatted for Symbian or Smartphones so read the fine print + have fun :)
