Hey Everybody,

I have just brought a 3586. It seems to be a good phone.

My question is where can I download App's and games for it? The Telecom site only seems to have ringtones.

Or do I have to pay up to $250 (Telecom) for a PC cable. And if I do, there is still the problem of where do I get the App's and Games from to download to the phone via the PC?

Thanks
Paul

Well, sometimes a topic slips through the cracks, sometimes people reading here doesn't know the answer. Most of the times the CDMA folks are quite good. It just takes time.

But be gentle and someone else will help. Things take time...

Search on trademe for a nokia datacable that is compatible with the 3586 (about $20~$30)..... I bought one from there, and works wonderfully. Once you have on of those PM me, and I'll send you a CD with the software to get access to your phone, and loads of games too :)

Any idea if those games work on the 2280?
How about games for the Sanyo, anyway to copy them onto it ;) (I know its a completly different phone/datacable so may require its own topic :P)

I really wouldn't know about the 2280 sorry. Or the Sanyo, but I'm looking at getting one in the near future :)

This best way to get games onto your handset is to Create your own webserver and download them from there. If that is to hard you can also goto http://midlet.org/wap/ from your WAP broswer and download them from there.

Well,

Thanks for all your help... not.

For anyone else unfortunate to be in the same position I have been able to track down what turned out to be a very easy solution. Have a look on TradeMe in the Mobile Accessories section
(http://www.trademe.co.nz/Phones/Mobile-accessories/mcat-0344-0899-.htm).

Then do a search for "CD" and you'll get allsorts of hits.

As to downloading games and applications to the Nokia 3586, it cannot be done. I talked to some mates about it before, and even with the PC-cable, the model has no support for downloadalble Java applications (at least in New Zealand).,

The only CDMA handsets currently available that do support downloadable applicatiions are the Nokai 3105, Nokia 6585, Nokia 6225, Sanyo 8100, Hyundai TX95 and GTran 4020.

It can be done via cable and software (such as Oxygen Phone Manager 2) and if you have the games allready. I know, I've done it :)

First of all
I have a Nokia 3586 ESN from Bellsouth
I have DKU-5 usb Cable
Downloaded Nokia PC SUITE 5.05
Downloaded OPM II 2.3 ( Trial )

You can put Images, Games, Poliphonic Ringtones ( 4 channels only ) and Aplications.

For Images and Poliphonic ringtones i use the nokia Suite.
For the poliphonic you have to have extra care , you can only put channels from 1 to 4
some times you can repeat some sound on channel or maybe more sounds, i recomend only using 1 sound per channel. The red Sounds are not compatible for the phone , but as always you can try to put them , first the red one on channel 1 and the try one by one the ther channels, some times it worked on me. Dont worry you can try if it doesnt sound you can always delete it from your phone.

For Games and aplications i use the Oxygen Phone Manager II 2.3 trial version.
Go to Tool menu
Select Options
Select the DKU-5 Com Port
ok

Then on Your Phone directory on OPM , go to folder Games , right bottom select Java Game.
Java Games can be found on Emule or Kazaa serach for Nokia Java Games thats all .
The Java games are 2 files with same name but diffrent extensions one is jar and the other one is jad.
Use only OPM to put Games on it dont try to crack it or put serial number on it , it works fine as a TRIAL , there has been several BAD issues puting keygens to register it , causing on permanent damage to the phone.

Well thats all i Know a , well the code to change the numbers and stuff , DON'T play with it if you dont know what youre doing ok ?

Good bye to you all .

You need the SPC code to change a lot of those settings. :/
