Hello there.

I magically found a Nokia 3200 so I got a cheap data cable for it for thrills. Although people are saying on the web that it doesn't have an internal modem. Anybody had any luck with it? Pays to ask anyway. There are a bunch of sites that say it does work, while others say it doesnt. Doesn't work for me. ATD gives 'error' and Anything after AT except for an I gives an error too.

All I've gotten so far is:

ATI
Nokia

OK

Which isn't very exciting.

It should work no problems, but as to how to set it up, I can't really help here, as it has been some time since I have had the opportunity to do this soft of thing with a GSM phone.

Why not contact Vodafone customer support and ask for the required settings, and enter these into a Dialup networking connection.

Anyways, best of luck.

Either would have been fine. As it turns out - the damn thing doesn't have any modem functionality at all. And now I have a damn DKU-5 cable. The only good thing is that it has helped me narrow the choices down with respect to which phone to buy.

In a fit of rage, I decided to hang up my cellphone the hard way - now it is in a thousand tiny peices. I need two new phones :/
