Hi there, tonight my iPhone 6s plus home button died - It is well out of warranty - Has anyone had any experience with these 3rd party repair shops? There seems to be a lot of them.

The Phone is not worth what they want to charge

Instead of wasting money on a cowboy repair you would be better to put it towards a new phone. If you are cost conscious then just buy one of the older model iPhones which are perfectly fine and much cheaper than the latest and greatest.

Hi - I've had good service on Apple laptop repair from one of their authorised repairers in Wellington - https://www.connectnz.co.nz/#

plus had one or two of our family phones repaired by the guys on Vivian St - https://cellcity.co.nz with good results. Good luck.

Cheers,

OOBE want $250 to replace the whole screen and home button, I can get an iPhone 6s (admitidly not a plus) for $239 on trademe

TBH I only want the phone to last until Apple release the 5G iPhone 12 in September

+1 for Cellcity. They also tend to have older phones available to buy at decent prices

$80 for a home button repair, that will see me through until September when I can fork out for a iPhone 12

To be honest, given all that is going on in China currently, I would not expect to see any volume of any new 5G iPhones in NZ until early 2021, (at the earliest)- you might need your old phone longer than you think
