I want to get the sony ericson z200 ($230 at etown & parallel imports), and was wondering if there was anything comparable/better in that price range.

also how do i connect a parallely imported phone to a network, do i have to go to one of the mobile providers to get some sort of set up done.

thanks

well, i checked up some things, and i'll probably need to buy a conection pack from vodafone,

does the z200 have a sim card slot?
vodafone has sim card instructions for the z600, but not the z200

Etown only sell GSM phones (So it has to have a sim card to conect to vodafone). Telecom will not connect(CDMA)mobles you have got from overseas. Pop the sim card in and alway you go.Go to sony ericssons web site and get the MMS settings for NZ sent to your phone. Andrew

thanks

there seems to be a problem with this, when i put in my location as new zealand it doesnt show the z200 phone, again only the z600 from that range, probably beacuse they dont officially sell the phone in new zealand, but there must be a way around this

...

ok i tried it again using australia as the location, and now im to the set up page and it asks me the location again, and i can enter new zealand, so thats solved, now however its asking wether the network is gprs or gsm.
now if the phone supports both, which would i want to use?

thanks again for the help andrew.
