Does anyone know how I might go about getting a Verizon phone on to the Telecom network? I know that the phone somehow has to be "flashed" to remove the Verizon software and put in Telecom's. Telecom will not do this apparently (so they told me), so is it possible to do in NZ? I understand this kind of thing is done quite commonly in the US to move phones from one network to another.

I only want to do this because I have a near new phone purchased in the US last year that I quite like and my old Telecom phone has about done it's dash. I'd get an iPhone but I just want a basic call and text machine and I'm too cheap to pay even $200 or more when I have a perfectly good phone.

Thanks for your ideas in advance.

Telecom will not connect any other CDMA devices to their network unless they have been purchased and certified here in NZ.

Doesnt really matter what you try and do to the phone - they will not connect it.
