I bought a K800i around 8months ago and now looking to sell it.
I didn't buy it from Vodafone so have a feeling it is unlocked...

How am I able to check whether my SE k800i is unlocked?

If you bought it from VFNZ reseller then it is not locked.

If you are not 'sure' despite being told it is not locked, then put a 2degrees sim card into it.

more generally, where ANY locked phones ever sold in NZ? aside from a very very short period of time from VF, I think there never have been locked phones sold here

Well I got 2 S/E c702's about a year ago from Noel Leeming as insurance replacements and they were both locked to VF's network
